Thematic enhancement courses

Thematic enhancement courses 19 february 2024

Recently, the first thematic improvement courses on mechanical thrombectomy of this year are coming to an end. These courses are regularly held at the Poltava Sklifosovsky Regional Clinical Hospital under the leadership of Mykhailo Tonchev and Andriy Nos.

We received 28 applications for participation and sincerely appreciate everyone's interest in USMS educational projects and the desire to enhance knowledge and skills.

During the training course, participants covered material on topics such as methods of neurointerventional diagnostics for patients with acute ischemic stroke, Ukrainian regulatory documents regulating stroke treatment, radiological anatomy of cerebral arteries, treatment routes and strategies for acute stroke, criteria for patient selection for thrombectomy, pharmacological methods of revascularization and secondary stroke prevention, management peculiarities within selected therapy, medication support, criteria for early intubation, tracheostomy, and gastrostomy. Instruments for endovascular procedures, their advantages, and disadvantages were also discussed, along with complex cases focusing on neurovisualization data.

A section dedicated to working with flow models in the X-ray operating room and studying methods of endovascular thrombectomy sparked particular enthusiasm among participants. Active discussions took place throughout the training.

Participants also had the opportunity to actively participate in analyzing current clinical cases and patient treatment.

Traditionally, announcements for upcoming cycles of thematic improvement can be found on our social media pages.
